Doodles are changes made to the Google logo to celebrate the lives of famous artists, pioneers, and scientists and also to celebrate anniversaries and holidays. On the 23rd of January 2018 would have been his 56th birthday, so Google decided to honour him.

Keshi had a successful career in football as he won the African Cup of Nations for Nigeria as a player in 1994 and became the only Nigerian to have won the same tournament as a coach, with victory in South Africa in 2013.

Keshi also set a historic record in African football by being the first coach to successfully qualify two African nations (Nigeria and Togo) to the World Cup Finals. He also helped Nigeria  become the first African country to achieve an African Cup of Nations trophy and World Cup qualification, both in 2013. That scored him the coach of the year award in 2013.  Keshi was really an African football legend.

The West Africa nation was shocked when Stephen Keshi passed away from a heart attack in June 7, 2016.
