At Least 10 People Dead in Muna Garage Explosion, Maiduguri

Early reports states that  at least 10 persons were killed after four female suicide bombers detonated explosives in the Nigerian city of Maiduguri, Borno state.

  According to the spokesman for the National Emergency Management Agency Abdulkadir Ibrahim, the incident happened at 17:05 local time (5:05 pm) on Wednesday  around the Muna Garage, which is located in the outskirts of Maiduguri, leaving 65 persons injured. Emergency response teams, including NEMA (National Emergency Management Agency), BOSEMA (Borno state Emergency Management Agency),  and the Red Cross, quickly responded to the incident, gave first aid to the injured and transported them to hospitals.

  Maiduguri has previously been the site of attacks from female suicide bombers in October 2016 (at least 9 people confirmed dead and 24 others injured) and in August 2017 (with 27 people killed and 82 injured).

Whether the terror group Boko Haram were behind this recent explosion could not be confirmed.
